"Dead Weather Machine" 2004 Manifold Records - cd (cat: MANCD042) As an excercise in sample manipulation, the DWM project draws exclusivley from source material generated by swinging a cheap microphone in front of a misfiring heater/blower, itself congested with the fibrous dust of advanced decripitude and exhuming a near death rattle from its fractured internal respiritory mechanisms. This noise was then further disected and redefined entirely in the digital domain through spontaneous experiment, resulting in unexpected and surprising new textures. The heater was manufactured by Dimplex Heating Ltd. - Tango2 is the model. Working with reduced sound sources reinforces concepts of liberation through limitation. Availabale on Manifold Records
